A few weeks ago, we were proud to announce that our UK based Counter-Strike team had qualified for the ESL UK Spring finals in Leicester after finishing second in the league. This sets our side competing for a prize pool of £5,500 and the title of best Counter-Strike team in the UK (of those participating). More on the way the league went here, but this is a preview for the ESL UK LAN so let’s get onto this.
At the event in Leicester this Sunday, our boys will be facing off against familiar foes in The Working Men, Team Infused and current defending champions United Estonia. First off, it’s worth to note that our roster will feature a change, with Brandon “weber” Weber being the final replacement for the spot which Max “MiGHTYMAX” Heath last held. Our boys managed to come through with 5 wins, only losing to Infused and TWM along the way, netting them a solid £895 in prize money alone from the league.
The team’s first game will be up against Infused at 13:40 (BST). If they win, they go into the Grand Final against the winner of TWM/United Estonia at 17:40 (BST). A loss would send them going to the Third Place Playoff, for a slightly larger share of money at 16:40 (BST). We wish our boys luck on their way to victory this weekend. The games shall be watchable on ESL’s Twitch channels, and coverage starts at 10:00 (BST) on /esl_csgo!
